Here's what my dad and I have been up to this week:
*Seen Big Ben and the House of Parliament, which is so beautiful. (This view is from the inside!)
*Went to a service in Westminster Abbey where Princess Kate got married. (Pictured below)
*Took a ride in the London Eye, which is an insanely high ferris wheel overlooking the city.
*Went to the Churchill War Bunkers where Winston Churchill lived during WWII.
*Went to Harrods and explored the entire store!
*Saw Billy Elliot at the theatre (one of the best show's I've ever seen).
Some other wicked cool things I've learned:
*You have to look right when you cross the street or a bus might hit you!
*The Underground is much more accessible than in the U.S and as you leave the intercom says, "Please mind the gap between the train and the platform". It's cool to imitate.
*People drink hard cider which is very delicious and tastes like apples, but be careful; it's stronger than beer!
*Be prepared for rain even if it's not in the forecast and is sunny outside because it will probably poor at some point on any given day.
*They call the bathrooms the toilets which I find slightly awkward.
*When in doubt of what to order...Stick with fish and chips and it'll probably be good!
*Drinking water isn't a priority to many people so it only comes in bottles which I think is very frustrating because you have to continuously buy water instead of using a water bottle.
